China textile & apparel fair and Apparel Trade Fair Kicked off

China textile & apparel fair and Apparel Trade Fair is underway in Paris. This is the second such trade fair following the one held in Germany last year. Some 100 delegations from textile & apparel fair and apparel enterprises across China are now in Paris to promote their overseas market shares.
Xu Yingxin, Deputy Secretary General of China National textile & apparel fair and Apparel Council, said he regarded the fair as a good opportunity for the Chinese enterprises to boost cooperation with French counterparts.
"The European Market is one of the world top three textile & apparel fair markets for China. And it is an important market for the Chinese textile & apparel fair product. The fair can promote the textile & apparel fair and Apparel trade between China and Europe. Meanwhile, France is a strong country of textile & apparel fair and apparel with quite a lot of brands, and its manufacturing skills are so good, so it's a good opportunity to exchange ideas and promote cooperation."
One representative from a France apparel enterprise says in Paris, made-in-China textile & apparel fair can be seen everywhere and this is a reflection that European people like Chinese made clothes.
"I know the Chinese textile & apparel fair industry is so strong in the international market. We look forward to meeting more counterparts, communicating with them. It will be great if it’s possible to cooperate textile & apparel fair with them."

The 2008 China International textile & apparel fair Trade Fair won a big success when it drew down its curtain on the 16th July after a 3 days exhibition at Shanghaimart. There were 3 zones in this year fair – The Export Hall, Overseas Brand Hall and B-Match Zone which has open up more opportunity for the buyers.
Occupying a gross space of 8200 sqm, the 2008 China International textile & apparel fairl Trade Fair has attracted nearly 200 exhibitors covering 300 exhibition booths and thousands of buyers with more than 100 coming from Europe and America.
As an export oriented trade fair that promotes overseas trade, textile & apparel fair the organizer has conducted 2 sessions of B-Match event with the objective of connecting the buyers with suppliers who fit their specific production needs. The 1st session on the 14 July has attracted many overseas buyers participation like Blue Max of Singapore, Fifth Element of South Africa, Varu 2000 of Venezuela just to name a textile & apparel fair few.
The 2nd session on 15 July has also attracted big name buyers like Movie Star of America, Itochu Fashion System of Japan, Mondial of Hong Kong and Hanes brands of Germany. A total of 12 buyers took part in the B-Match event on the second day which has attracted more than 60 suppliers’ participation.
Another highlight of this year trade fair is the Overseas Brand Hall that has attracted 11 enterprises showcasing 20 overseas apparel brands that are prepared to enter the Chinese market. This special feature of the Overseas Brand Hall opens up great opportunity for local buyers and the development of the retailing market in China. The organizer has invited 27 major departmental stores sourcing manager to visit the showcase and have received positive response. J-Mode, a seminar on international brand was conducted during the fair.
In conjunction textile & apparel fair to the trade fair, a total of 21 events & activities including seminars and workshops have taken place. One of the activities was the presentation of the top 500 enterprises in the China textile and apparel industry which has become one of the highlights and attractions in the fair. There were also 4 live interviews with the organizer, overseas buyer, representative from the exhibitors and Itochu Fashion System.

With the opening of the 7th Shanghai Apparel Trade Fair and the joint-event Mode Shanghai, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank and welcome all our exhibitors, buyers from home and abroad.
2010 is going to be an extraordinary year for China’s textile & apparel fair and apparel industry. The current market shows 2 major trends: First, with the potential RMB appreciation and rising cost of local manufacturers, more and more labour-intensive apparel manufacturers are textile & apparel fair locating to the third world countries in South-east Asia. Under these circumstances, the only way for china apparel manufacturers to compete and develop is to fully utilize the complete and strong industry chain to seek constant innovation. Second, textile & apparel fair with the impact of the financial crisis, more and more international brands are targeting the huge China apparel textile & apparel fair consumption market. However, due to the limited knowledge of the local channels and environment, the international brands find it hard to do the market penetration.
To meet the above market demands, the 7th Shanghai Apparel and textile & apparel fair Trade Fair initiates 2 strategies: on the one hand, the fair features quality local products, over 400 quality fabric and apparel OEM suppliers join the fair. Government organizations from Hangzhou, Zhongshan, textile & apparel fair Chongqing, Jiashan and Jiangsu actively organize their exhibitors groups to attend the fair. On the other hand, over 400 international brands come to the fair for brand promotion. After the debut textile & apparel fair in 2008, J-mode hall this year features 120 quality Japanese brands, 4 times the scale of the last edition.
This initiative has had very positive feedback textile & apparel fairfrom buyers from home and abroad. One month prior to the fair, over 1000 overseas buyers have registered to attend the fair. LA Textile Show To Co-locate With Material World

The L.A. International Textile Show, hosted by the California Market Center (CMC), Los Angeles, and Material World & Technology Solutions, produced by Atlanta-based Urban Expositions LLC, will co-locate as of fall 2009. Co-locating the shows - to be held Sept. 30-Oct. 2, 2009, at the CMC - will create the largest, most comprehensive marketplace for apparel and home furnishing textile show, sourcing, global fashion production and supply chain resources on the West Coast. Beginning in 2010, the events will be held semi-annually.
"When the opportunity arose to co-locate with such a well-established, successful event as the L.A. International Textile Show, the list of benefits to the industry could not be ignored," said Tim von Gal, president, Material World & Technology Solutions.
